Ok so how exactually do you cut a guy when your not in a franchise ??? Im NOT controling any teams im trying to put him onto the pirates outside of a season and it still won`t let me do it

i had this same problem with trying to get kenny lofton on the pirates. they wouldnt let me swap with anyone. u cannot sign free agents outside of franchise mode only trade for them, i think thats what the other guy is trying to say.

Hey guys,
when your not in franchise you have to trade position for position because you have no minor league access. I learned this the hard way , I wanted to put contreas(starter) on the yankees and i tried to trade him for acevedo (mr) the no dice screen comes up so I hade to make contreras a (MR) and it took it. Same problen trying to get t. clark on the mets theres no one to lose for him because of him being a 1b.
Maybe I will make him play all positions and lose the weakest link of being on the team.

Gotta be careful when creating a pitcher. I created Waite Hoyt (Yankee HOFer) as a starting pitcher and he went into the free agent pool. I traded Roger Clemens for him. You would think Hoyt would take Roger's place in the starting lineup.....but no, one of the Yankee middle relievers was made a starter and Hoyt was put as a reliever (even though he is a starter). And there is no way to change the pitchers listed as starters by the game. I'm only talking for exhibtions here, not franchise or season.

The only complaints I have about this game is the editing process is too funky. The above mentioned problem with pitchers, plus the games terrible habit of changing numbers on players you created....this happens if you create players, save, and come back to create more players later...the numbers of players you created before get changed somehow and you have to go back and correct them. This doesn't happen if you edit existing players, though, only on created ones.
